From what I understand there's quite a significant speedup for load times (assuming you actually have it on the SSD hense my OP) I can certainly understand that being somewhat useless if your playing purely multiplayer but that's not everyone...having fast loading save games in say Fallout: NV...
I'm going to be upgrading to an SSD as my OS drive soon...but there's no way I can afford one large enough to put my games on (steam directory alone is 170gb with only about half the games I own installed and I have a lot of non steam games..so I'd realistically need at least 300gb for games...

yeah the bios part is a worry for me too plus the added bit that amd is revisiting the PCB so it's very possible cards will start filtering in soon that won't unlock at all...it's a huge toss up wether to go with reference design to be sure it'll unlock or hope the non reference ones will still...

I guess with all this you can reduce the odds of a new drive failure (granted by essentially forcing the failure but if that happens it would have happened later) but unless your willing to not use your new hard drive you payed for for quite a bit there are some aspects of the 'unreliable' first...
