Well it is. More of a refreshed 840 EVO than an 840. The f/w will likely keep moving data around to keep it fresh so to avoid the slow down. It doesn't sound great to us but it's probably still better than what it's competing against in the target markets.

Only in specific very high demand workloads will you see any performance increase by using a 950 Pro or 750 over a normal high quality SATA SSD. It depends on how hardcore your photography and web design tasks are on whether it's worth buying that kind of drive.
