What Mother Bard do you use to o/c your PIII??

It's most likely your cpu or your memory (set it to HSTCLCK-33, just to test). The P3V4X should be able to handle 143Mhz FSB... As far as 150Mhz FSB goes, the other boards I've used that could run at that speed reliably (assuming all of your components can tolerate 37.5Mhz on the PCI bus) are...

Celeron 566 & ASUS S370-DL Slotket Problem (New Thread)

It does sound to me that you have a faulty slocket then! And, yes, I found out the taller slocket was the S370-133. I actually had a S370-DL in a BH6, and a BF6, and it worked fine on both mobo, so it's probably just this one slocket that is being defective!

Also, you can't adjust voltages via the socket, while you can on a slocket; most 500E and 550E will do 733+ at default voltage, but I just wanted to warn you just in case.

MSI KT7 Turbo ? IDE Problem

Try to solve the problem if it bothers your conscience, but honestly, I've seen computers configured with the dvd-rom on the primary, and hdd on the secondary, and performance was identical. ;)

Opinion of little Motherboard makers

Other good brands include Aopen and DFI. And there are always the big brands: SuperMicro, Tyan, and Asus. PCCHIPS IS PURE CRAP! It's not worth the few dollars you will save! Believe me.

Celeron 566 & ASUS S370-DL Slotket Problem (New Thread)

One of the ASUS S370 slockets (the taller one) is known to be not so compatible with several mobos. I can't guarantee it is the source of the problem though. btw, did you jumper it properly (cpu type, fsb, etc...)? Or else your slocket might just be dead... btw, cpu type on the slocket...

celeron 633?

I had a couple of 633's, and both did 950 at 1.7-1.75 volts; if you go on the for sale/trade forums, most of them sold will indeed do 950 (or at least 900+ with FSB's above 90Mhz).

Wondering if anyone has used the Antec KS188 case...

I've used it and I wasn't too impressed. The biggest problem stems from the fact that the exhaust cooling fans (for the back) need to be mounted all the way at the top, above the PSU, where there is no air flow. If you run amd processors, which get very hot, the hot air will not circulate well...

TYAN S1854 bios updated to 1.07 now DVD won't work HELP!!!

I don't have the same DVD drive, but I've used bios 1.07 for many many months, and I've never had a single problem with any devices; could have been a bad flash?? I have an Aopen Slot Load 10X DVD drive, FYI. Maybe try to reload your Bios' Default Settings, then readjust everything from that...

AMD DDR mobo owners.

I would assume you are refering to the AGP mini driver? I did, but stupidly, I forgot to benchmark the performance before installing it, so I have no reference base to compare. The driver does work fine and is stable under both Win 98SE and Win 2k.

Win2k, Fat32 or NTFS? Is there a difference?

NTFS volumes also get fragmented a bit less (I think it had to do with the way files or clusters were linked??? binary tree vs. sequential, or something of the sort...). Don't quote me on this, I have a terrible memory. :P

I tried 2 MSI Master Slot 1 converter with PIII 700 on Tyan 1833DL but only one cpu is detected!

Are you sure you are using the MSI Master V2.3 slockets and not something older? Also, are both cpus cB0 stepping, and did you make sure you set both slockets to 100Mhz FSB? I know some other mobos had problem detecting 2 cpus if one of them was a cC0 stepping (due to different voltage lines).
