What qualifies as B-die memory? I have Samsung memory that boots 14-16-16 @ 3200mhz

The way I've heard it, is that B-die are Samsungs 8Gb DDR4 ICs. K4A8G085WB is one P/N I've heard used. Supposedly, Samsung has stopped making it in favor of higher capacity M-die, so what B-die is left in the channel is it. That said, B-die seems to have been all the rage in the Zen/Zen+ days...

I got kinda lucky. NewEgg had some 3900Xs come back in stock for 10 minutes yesterday around noon, so I snagged one. It'll be here by Saturday. The stuff I ordered Monday won't be here until next Tuesday (those parts are coming from LA). I have no idea when the CPU cooler, case fans, and PSU...

Ah, Cool! :) I looked it up earlier while I was working, and those are supposedly 40mm tall. That's just enough to squeeze under the NH-D15, if I swap out that front round 140mm fan for one of my 120mm NF-F12s. :D I kinda wish I had a spare AIO laying around, since it dawned on me a while...

Question Which 64gb memory kit for Ryzen 7 2700X?

FWIW, the QVL for the X570 Strix-E does list 4x16GB kits as tested in all 4 slots. They're 3600 CL16/CL17/CL18, though. I've been hearing 3200 CL16/CL15/CL14 kits should also work fine. I'm leaning towards a 64GB LPX 3200 CL16 kit myself, or maybe a Tridentz RGB kit. The NH-D15 I ordered...

That actually sounds pretty good. I'd even be fine with slightly larger perf penalty, since the vast majority of the time, it'll be running VMs in Cisco VIRL, or multivendor VMs (like Juniper, Arista, etc...) in GNS3, with a bunch of Windows apps and boatload of tabs open in Chrome, and...

So the difference between CL14, CL15, and CL16 all at 3200 isn't that dramatic? If not, that'll let me shave off a few bucks on the build. :D (I've got everything except the CPU, motherboard, and RAM on the way)

I'm in the middle of ordering parts for a 3900X build for work (I run lots of VMs in WS Pro, and multitask with apps running in Windows at the same time), and want to add 64GB RAM to it. I've got 32GB DDR3 in the current desktop I've got now (it still has a i7 2600K CPU), and some of these VMs...
