I would say even among CS graduates, or self-taught, or whatever... among people who make their living writing code, only a minority would fit the demographic that you're talking about. Not many people find passion or fun in their work, or do it on the side, or even try to be good at it...

Selective importing from flat file to SQL table

I haven't used SSIS/DTS heavily for years, but you can put SQL in there, most definitely. It lets you configure the SQL to pull from the source, and then you can make customizations to the transforms per column... you can do just about anything you need to do in there.

TV for nVidia 3dTV, narrowed it down..

My TV is a TC-P50S1 from 2009. I don't do any PC gaming on my TV, just consoles. And no 3D. But if you buy one of the 3D models (ST, GT, VT) then I am 99% sure getting it "working" for 3D PC games will come down to software (drivers). There should be nothing about the hardware that would limit you.

How much of this article is true about LCDs (esp. 60 v 120 Hz)?

AHCI and using a storage drive

That would be RAID 1 (mirroring). If you select RAID mode in your BIOS that doesn't mean you *have* to set up RAID. It just means you can in the future without changing anything. I have never heard of a mobo RAID mode that isn't equivalent to the standard AHCI setting if you're not using RAID.

I would say that NCQ is the biggest advantage you get from AHCI. If your motherboard supports AHCI you should use it (or RAID mode, if it has that option).
