I believe we're looking at the new Droid DNA Plus. Verizon has already announced they will sell a version of the HTC One. I don't see why there's not room for both in their lineup.

If you're talking about their highest level post paid plan, then there should be no throttling or capping. Note that this plan doesn't support unlimited wifi tethering--that's extra, and still capped and/or throttled. Prepaid plans are different altogether--aside from the lack of roaming...

It's not like they LOSE money from unlimited data customers. They might not make as much profit as they'd like, but it's still revenue, so why mess with that revenue and annoy paying customers by cancelling their plans? A number of them won't switch to a new Verizon plan--they'll go elsewhere...

No. Carrying one is a pain in the ass for numerous legal and safety reasons, and knowing me, I'd probably shoot myself by accident long before I ever let myself get into a situation where I'd use it for self-defense.

One would be equally brave not to protect or insure the SGS4. I looked at all the pictures from the iFixit tear down. The assembly appears to lean heavily on the Gorilla Glass 3 for overall structural rigidity. It seems to work, but it doesn't take a super-genius to see that it's sub-optimal...

Is there a VZW ROM with infrastructure mode wi-fi tethering? That's the biggest issue. (Or are you just surprised I'm not ripping off dozens of gigabytes of tethered data without paying the usage fee?)

QFT Plus, I don't believe Brian had to put the HTC One in a freezer to complete the benchmark test suite without overheating. What good is the extra 200 MHz when your game starts lagging from thermal throttling?

I hope so, but I doubt much will change, at least not quickly. Going back to the flip phone days, Samsung's phones have always been a cut below the competition as far presenting a quality-feeling device goes. They've always felt a little bit light and plasticy. Why should they change now?

Laughably incorrect. People on new Sprint plans have it, too. So do people on new T-Mobile plans, and people with grandfathered plans on AT&T, Verizon, and other carriers. Grandfathered unlimited, unthrottled LTE on Verizon (with unlimited mobile wi-fi hotspot add-on) is the holy grail...
