Well 'freebie' up to the agreed volume of course. And like I said, if past is any indication, AMD usually agrees to more than they end up ordering. Quite a lot more actually. To the point it really hurt them financially and they were forced the amend the agreement many times.
As it stands right now, anything coming from GF is a huge plus for AMD because of the wafer supply agreement. You could almost say GF is a freebie.
In other words AMD would have to pay up even if they don't meet the agreed volume (which was always the case in the past).
What consoles are they talking about? I mean I'm not saying P11 won't be used in a future console but was there a confirmation somewhere or are they pulling it out of their behind?
Well Raja Koduri already hinted what we can expect from Polaris. It's gonna be smaller than in the past and it's gonna be higher perf/$.
In other words I expect something similar to what HD 4000 series was. Not quite the perf crown but a no brainer when it comes to perf/$.
This is where most...
I watched quite a few Twitch streamers on Nvidia hardware with monster rigs barely above, sometimes below 60fps. Yes overclocked 980 Tis. So no, there is nothing happy about it performance wise.
As for AMD crashing. Never had a single crash or bug playing it on R290.
Never had any issues with balanced settings. My GPU and CPU ramp up as they should and there is 0 performance difference for me in games or benchmarks.
Fact that Maxwell 2 can't do async compute might not be a huge deal even though we may see 290X competing even with 980Ti in games with heavy async compute use.
A much bigger problem is if Pascal can't do it either. If it can't Nvidia lost the DX12 round.
The results are actually exactly what most of us expected. Its more than 50% faster than 290x if those benchmarks are real of course. We don't even know which Fury they tested water or air cooled edition. If that also translates to games we are looking at around 6% faster than TX.
I thought Nvidia drivers are flawless and everything 'just works'. Why do you need a support forum to constantly complain as you say? You're making no sense.
The rest is just not worth commenting.
I'll be shocked if they learned nothing from Hawaii launch. Noise is a big factor. I can deal with higher power consumption and higher temps, never with noise.
