need help upgrading to new monitor

I am using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X video card I have heard a lot of things about the LG 32GK850G Black 31.5" QHD 1440p 5ms 144Hz/165hz NVIDIA G-Sync Gaming Monitor $814....high price to me its a VA panel and some just say NO WAY. Get an IPS or nothing. Wonder if they have one LOL...

why are amd processors so much slower than intel in games

asking for buddy about upgrading his cards

he upgraded the 760 to the 8gig 480 demon. As soon as he gets it I am going to try and get them to compare it to his 780 and see if he will take the time to test it.

thanks big time Bacon1. He just ordered 2 of the 480 cards. Heck you even have me thinking of a $200 480. I can't say how powercolor cards are or their rebate but this is a good deal. ===== spoke 2 soon or I misunderstood him...he order 1 new card to replace the 760

HP Omen 32" VA 2560x1440 75Hz Freesync

I just do not see free sync being viable on 2560 and surely not on 4k monitors. the top if the line 480 is just not that good. Maybe the new card, if it ever comes out might be ok but nothing now seems good enough for gaming at these resolutions.

5820 or 7700 new system

I was going to get a 5820K, my thoughts were quad channel memory 6 cores etc. Now looking at the 7700K and so damn confused. Mainly I just do desktop stuff and play some games. I do not transcode movies but I do some sas and R programming with sql data. not sure which one to build any thoughts...

How many of you are OS holdouts / luddites? Still clinging to your favorite OS?

windows 7 here. I just can't get over all the spyware that windows 10 has. Yes I have heard the bs that windows 8 is just as bad and so is 7. Windows 10, take out all the spyware and I will buy it.

Looks like I am back on the waiting game again. It will probably be months before the non reference get shipped. BUT I am worried about the cards performance at high res so maybe its a good thing.

hell this has been going on since computer mags started. You read the greatest review of a piece of hardware or software and its right next to a 2 page color ad for it. NO ONE doing any review in paper or on that there internet is paid to do it. NOT ME I went out and spent $2000 to buy that...

For around $350, is the GTX970 or R9 290x my better option?

Can you attach a router to a switch?

I would be watchful of Buffalo. I have had 2, 1 just quit working, the other one quit after 1 year, sent for warranty. Got a different modem (same model) in less than a year its flakey, loosing connections. I do like the dd-wrt installed but I am wondering if the parts are just not that good...
