Anyone use Kwikset locks?

The Kwikset Smart Key locks are good if you are a landlord as it allows you to rekey the lock on the fly whenever a tenant moves out. For your self, the regular non-smart key locks are probably just average. They are probably half the price of Schlage locks and also feature a life-time...

That is simply for lending purposes, mortgages on investment properties usually carry either a higher interest rate and/or higher closing costs and a different underwriting standard I assume since they factor in investment income.

Of course it is a rip-off, it is a luxury and as with most luxuries, the dollars will never add up for what you're getting. The $200,000 watches you can buy are rip-offs too but it's not about bang for your buck with these kinds of items or services.
