Folding isn't that efficient with AMD cards and there are projects in BOINC that also fold proteins but are better with AMD. Is your heart set on Folding@Home?
What kind of thermal paste are you using? It sounds like your CPU is overheating. This could also be an issue with a RAM slot. Try and see what happens when you use one stick in one slot and then rotate slots to see if anything different happens
It crunches differently than other processors favoring WUs that are integer heavy. For the vast majority of projects, you can expect calculations to be more FPU heavy. I own a Piledriver and I wish I went with Intel now
Careful which motherboard you go with if you want to overclock the 8350. Most can not handle the power requirements when you get over 4.5 GHz. It might be better to go with Intel for this reason since AMD's old motherboard advantage does not apply for the FX-8350
