I never worked in CCP before, but u dont have to worry, EVERY point in ccp is inactive (u cant click on it) or just empty, so u just have to click to every menu and u will have to get the right answer. whole lab took me about 8 minutes.

The LAB that comes in this exam is NTP/ACL and you need to do the configuration using CCP (GUI).

Dumps still valid in the UK, too the exam on 7th June 2013. All questions were from this dump. The lab was a bit different on the settings but i guess if you had done even some basic CCP configs previously you should be easily able to find out what is what to look for answers.

You're asking about the secure network lifecycle. If you read what you posted you will see that Misha and Keith have the same info. The only difference is the order. If you want the correct order then it is Keith's which matches the official cert guide (CH. 2 Understanding Security Policies Using A Lifecycle Approach p. 25 under Risk Analysis & Mgmt). I don't believe the question asks for the order so that doesn't matter.

There are 3 protocols used in delivering alerts: SDEE, syslog, SNMP (CH. 15 IPS/IDS Fundamentals p. 385 of the official cert guide under the section Monitoring & Managing Alarms & Alerts).

The Q is not tell you what type of ACE to use so you cant say in a case of standard implement it in the Close to destination , or if it extended and implement it Close to Source . this is why "A . Build ACLs based upon your security policy." to me is the Correct one

Ok what I was doing is I connected my NIC, to router in GNS3 and didn't create any loop back. I used cloud in GNS3 to do so. Use unsecured connection on CCP. It will work faster and with no error. Thanks Misha, I believe I have tried to meet all requirements, see I have this problem.

I am running CCP version 2.6 with JRE version of 1.6 on GNS3 router 7200. I am getting this massage while discovering the router, " Security Applet failed on device 172.16.10.1 with error Cisco CP lost communication with the device. Check the connection between the PC and the device, then rediscover the device."



I was using Fast Ethernet port of the router , when I got this problem I used Ethernet port as my Microsoft loopback PC has speed of 10 Mbps, then CCP was able to discover the router but then it started disconnecting the session with router when I click on any dropdown in configuration menu.

Could that be the low bandwidth causing this problem, I am not aware of changing speed on loopback PC procedure.

In the simlet, some of the answers had changed, just know how to navigate the CCP to get the answers, e.g the question: what object is in the network. Object group inside. The answers in my exam were different from that in the dumps, but still d same path to get the answers

Thank you for your help Bless you!! I do have an issue when I down load the Cbt nugget file. ERROR SAY Unable to load "CBT NUGGET FILE: NOT ENOUGH STORAGE IS AVAILABLE TO PROCESS THIS COMMAND"
I do have enough memory space and RAM . I do have cbt nugget for 640-553 and open just fine, and I use u Torrent to open this new file 640-554.

Any one have an idea how to fix this error please.

Yeah you got a point there Misha. I think you may be right. What you are thinking of CCP Hotspot NAT ACL question "What NAT address will be assigned by ACL 1 "

English is not my native but I'm pretty sure that choosing the network from the NAT Rules tab will give you the network address of the network which will be translated. What it will translated into is written on the NAT tab and if its not an IP pool generally it is an overload to the outside interface. I choose the interface in the exam and depending on my score I assume it is the right choice also. Also another point in my exam simulation NAT Rules tab was inactive but NAT tab was. So if you make it clear also It will help the lads who are going to take the exam. Finally thanks for the dump it's been very helpful.

I'm with you mate. I also was breaking my brain to get proper answer, but you are wrong that CCP using https for every configuration. Default option is unsecured, meant http. Just try it with Wireshark you will see, also set up IPS/ids , end even in option router(config)#ip ips notify SDEE or log:). But it is still tricky one

Misha I think its a tricky one. The questions have some key points. First of all it asking for how CCP does it. CCP is browser based application so it does use https for every configuration it reads from the device. Furthermore another keyword in the question is the world"pulls". In syslog protocol you dont pull something. But in order to get those SDEE logs CCP has to send HTTPS REQUEST packets and has to receive HTTPS RESPONSE packets. If you think of it this way you cannot work with CCP without http server activated. In ciscos official data sheets they also only mention SDEE and Syslog and I'm telling again both of them still makes sense and it is damn tricky because of the reasons I've stated above.

Guys the way to check if it is syslog or https it is used Wireshark. When you will set up IPS/IDS, turn monitoring on Wireshark. You will see syslog but not https, it cannot be https, maybe SSH but it is not even such a option.

Once your sensor is in place and doing its job, if it generates an alert you need to be
able to see that somehow. As the sensor generates alerts, you can feed those alerts real
time to a monitoring system, which can show you the information in beautiful colorcoded
formats, or you could go to the database of stored alerts, extract them, and analyze
them that way, as well. Three main protocols are used in delivering alerts. They are
Security Device Event Exchange (SDEE) , syslog, and SNMP. You can use one or all of
these methods to get the alerts off of the sensor and sent to the device that you choose
to use to view what is happening in the world of alerts.

In CCP Hotspot for NAT ACL I chose the interface since that option is makin far more sense to me than the network adress of the ACL. Because ACL will gonna allow that networks adress to be translated but the adress which will be given/translated into is the IP adress of the specified interface.Also ofc Misha is using a real CCP enviroment for NTP LAB so if you dont see the CLI preview and save running config to startup config checkbox dont panic that is because its a simulation just make sure you do the NTP config first.
CAM overflow lab you see from other dumps is outdated imo I didnt have it. But learn it anyways it is easy.

I choose for CCP pulling IPS Alerts with which protocols question SDEE & HTTPS although I was pretty convinced It is SDEE & Syslog I got confused by the arguments in securitytut.com so I choose SDEE & HTTPS I still dont know which one is correct because both of them makes sense. Some people reported they score 1000 on 553 by choosing syslog some reports HTTPS maybe question is not giving any scores or maybe both combinations are considered correct.
Multi-choice questions was the same an untouched they were the same in the dumb but ofc the order of answer was mixed so dont memorize locations of the answers LEARN the answers. As long as I'm concerned this dump is all you need after studying the material ofc because other questions in different dumps are 553 exam questions. Maybe you will get them bu there is a big chance that will not happen. Even if you get 1-2 of them you will still pass.

I wrote my exam in UK yesterday after cautious study of Misha's well compiled dump. I passed with a score of 866 even without attempting the lab question due to the exam centre's nonchalance. The dump is still valid but beware of the re-arrangement of the answers and also the 5 simlets for the ACL, which has some minor changes of parameters.... Thanks guys for your help..

I think the correct answer must be class-map because class-maps are used for defining multiple protocols in a single row.

2NDLY, THERE IS ONLY 1 QUESTION IN THE LAB, BUT THERE ARE 5 MAIN TASKS. SOME OF THE MAIN TASKS HAVE SUB TASKS, OTHERS DO NOT.
SO, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, THERE IS ONLY 1 LAB & ONLY 1 QUESTION, THAT'S ALL.. & IN MY CASE, MY LAB WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS IN DUMPS. SAME NUMBER OF TASKS & SUB-TASKS. NOTHING WAS CHANGED IN MY EXAM.
