I passed my ccnp in July and i didn't save my config with "copy run start" in global configuration mode, but i had seen in the "show run" the presence of a server FTP with its ip address and credentials. Now i learn ccnp tshoot and i saw here that one can save config direct in server FTP. For the new future takers, if the "copy run start" does not work, try this one "copy run ftp://login:pass@x.x.x.x" where the login and pass stands for login and password respectively and x.x.x.x stands for FTP's ip address. Please tell me if i work, it's for my research.

Passed with 8xx, 149q is still valid, there was 4-5 new questions but it does not matter if u study well. Also in labs dont just go for the ans, check your topology as ans change accordingly. I got eigrp simlet, ospf simlet, PBR, Eigrp-ospf redistribution and 2 drag n drop.

Hi everybody, I passed the exam today, if you are using 191 by Jame, basically the first 80 questions will be in Cisco questions pool, I studied both 149 and 191, 149 is 100% valid and 191 and 149 only share around 90 questions,so studying 191 won't take you anywhere,in 191 after question 128 or so, the questions are so complicated and old and many of them are from CCNA exam.
I had ACL and redistribution for LAB. Neither copy run start nor wr me worked.
wr me had invalid command popped up and copy run start came up with command can't be something and I think the points that I lost was for this. 2 SIMs, I think some of the answers in the exams were incorrect, I heard somewhere that Cisco put at least 3 or 4 wrong answers, so here is he reason, one of the questions was about SPF algorithm and how many time it was executed in R4, in order to find the answer you need to run "show ip ospf" command in R4, when I did that, the answer was 7 (SPF algorithm executed 7 times) but there was no 7 in answers,1,5,9,20,54,224.
Anyway, I have now started studying the switching and hoping to sit for exam in next couple of weeks.

Hi joe. R u using the v191 vice which is free download on top of this page? Most of the ppl commented valid is referring to the premium vice - 149q which got to pay 49.99 usd.

Took the exam today 7/5 failed @ 750. This vce has about 1/3 of the questions and simlets I had. Adjacency types for cef weren't covered (its not in the CCNP book either). Studied most every day for 3 months, read the entire official cert guide for ccnp route, watched all the cisco live videos, did all the cisco learning labs for route. Disheartening but I will study more and attempt again in 2-4 weeks.

149q 100% valid but some of the OSPF/Eigrp eval sims answers are wrong here. passed 9xx/1000 today.Same 2 labs as mentioned recently..but must check routers as ospf and interface variables change... practice labs in GNS3. For correct way to get answers (show run doesnt work) and cli syntax for OSPF/Eigrp eval, look at detailed exp of these ... Couldnt get these 2 sims to run in GNS, but you can practice the commands in the other EIGRP/OSPF labs routers to get familiar with them as they run in GNS.(router IOS 2691 works)Dont guess with these sims..understand them as the answers needed will be dependent on the config, which they change in exams. The 149q vce is called "Route 300-101.vce" and runs in vce manager 3.4.2.

Passed today with a score of 9XX. 149q is 100% valid. 149q is the Premium dump which is not available for free. You will have to purchase it. 191q one available here is not totally valid, it contains questions from old dumps. The first 82 questions are valid on 191q.
Be careful on Infrastructure Services section, some answers are not correct on the dump 149q.
Be careful with the redistribution question as not to use Area number but Process ID and watch out for the type of link used between R2 and R3, also the OSPF evaluation question may be twisted e.g. Answer may be R1-R3 should be 10 40 40 or R2-R3 is 30 120 120 depending on the question. Always check before answering the questions.

Dont depend only on the dumps, prepare well before going to the exams. Questions may change at any point of time.

hello guys.. took this exam las friday, 10th June.. 149q v9 still valid.. got a twist with the ospf evaluation though. my answer is that r3 will be the one to forward lsa to all pther routers. I had got SIMs 4 & 5. I think SIM 3 is also important and interesting. Prepare all well.
Reg, SIM 4, we will need to remember, route-map 10, was created exclusive to HTTP traffic from LAN subnet, so will need the route-map 20, for other kinds of traffic as per the question.
Reg, the 'Infrastructure Security' I don't recollect which questions in particular, however, in-spite of thorough preparation, made most of the mistakes in this section.

149q Premium dump is valid so far. Cleared today. Just options are randomly put in few questions, not much difference. SIMs are very valid.
In SIM, the 'wr mem'/ 'copy run start' may not execute, just relax and confirm moving to the next question. Put little careful attention to 'Infrastructure Security' section, as in this section answers in premium dumps may have few minor errors. Overall it was good one. I think here is a bit of a confusion caused. Question asks about the addressing mechanism, not protocol. DHCPv6 can assign IPv6 only after SLAAC advertises a host-id. Now we have to remember, this host-id gets created on the grounds of EUI-64. So, leasing IPv6 by DHCPv6 is just implementation of the set-up mechanism - combination of SLAAC and EUI-64.

I was about to compose my message on why B C should be the right answers however I read this from
CCNP Routing and Switching from Kevin Wallace:

Stateless Autoconfiguration
The second of the two options for dynamic IPv6 address assignment uses a built-in IPv6 feature
called stateless autoconfiguration as the core tool. Stateless autoconfiguration allows a host to
automatically learn the key pieces of addressing information—prefix, host, and prefix length—plus
the default router IP address and DNS IP addresses. To learn or derive all these pieces of
information, stateless autoconfiguration actually uses the following functions:
Step 1. IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP), particularly the router solicitation and router

NOw, somehow, this have lessen my confusion.

Probably B c will be the correct answer if they put a range of IPV6 address in the pool hence making it a stateful dhcp.

SLAAC is implemented on the IPv6 client by listening for these local Router Ads’ and then taking the prefix that is advertised to form a unique address that can be used on the network. For this to work, the prefix that is advertised must advertise a prefix length of 64 bits (i.e., /64); SLAAC will then dynamically form a host identifier that is 64 bits long and will be suffixed to the end of the advertised prefix to form an IPv6 address. Originally, the host identifier was formed using the EUI-64 rules (the same that are used to form link local addresses) and many devices still use this method.

Also, DHCPv6 (Dynamic and stateless) cannot function as a standalone addressing mechanism, it will need inputs from SLAAC to allocate IPv6 to the hosts.

So in a nutshell, EUI-64 is the rules/framework that SLAAC uses to determine the prefix based on host link-local address, which DHCPv6 uses to assign IPv6 to hosts.

Passed today, 149Q exam still valid, June 3, 2016. Small hiccup on the OSPF lab question:

A. The R1-R3 link needs the neighbor command for the adjacency to stay up.
B. The R2-R3 link OSPF timer values are 30, 120, 120
C. The R1-R3 link OSPF timer values should be 10, 40, 40.
D. R3 is responsible for flooding LSUs to all the routers on the network.

Exam says this is answer B, 30, 120, 120, which is not the case on the exam, on exam the link was 10, 40, 40, and the link to R1 was 30, 120, 120

I guessed that C was the correct answer that it should be 10, 40, 40.

Didn't make that big a difference, a pass is a pass. Everything else was spot on.

The 149Q dump i have only has Exam B. Is that the valid one?

I passed the exam on 28 may, 2016. 149Q is valid. I got 961. The only difference was in the ospf-eigrp redistribution. The interface has to verified to the right metric. In my case the delay was 100 which i divided by 10.
