Help with CPU Fan

Wouldn't it be quite loose without the feet though? They are definitely removable as part of the heatsink construction process out of the box was screwing those feet on both sides

Help with CPU Fan

Hey, thanks for that. I just encountered one small problem which had forced me to put the old heatsink unit back on. I bought the heatsink you recommended, but it has 4 'feet' (as an example see http://www.frozencpu.com/produ...GP.html?tl=g48c369s48) which don't appear to have anywhere to go...

32bit XP switching to 64bit XP

Thanks, I would go straight to Windows 7 then, but since it's not out I may have to get the 64bit version of Vista now and get the free upgrade come October.... Annoying, but oh well.

Help with CPU Fan

Is it generally not possible then to purchase a CPU fan without the heatsink? I'm a bit worried about ruining the CPU if I try and pry the heatsink off. Is it worth upgrading my CPU do you think for the motherboard/CPU I have at the moment?

Yeh, they seem to be. I tried those eicar files and NOD32 wouldn't let me dl a couple of them. The ones on the bottom it detected and deleted when I asked NOD32 to scan them. =T
