RAID setup playing up!

Hey guys, ive been running a stable system for the last 6 months, i have a crappy 300watt PSU, a dvd writer, a dvd reader, nvidia 6600le gfx card, an intake fan, and outtake fan, an Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 motherboard, 2 x 512mb sticks of corsair value select ddr ram, a Sempron 2800 socket 754 CPU...

Need some upgrade advice

if you want a cheap upgrade, then i would say a 7600 seems the way to go, you'll see an improvement, and you'll be able to put some of the spare cash to building a new rig, as its clear you'll need one soon if you want to play the games you've mentioned at those settings. And when the time...

What should I upgrade next?

well if you would sell it, i wouldnt mind getting my hands on the mobo, cpu and ram, im actually getting a 7600 pretty soon, so not interested in that, if so, pricing? [and you could easily overclock a Core 2 6400 to the speeds of a 6600, that would save you some money, for say, more ram...]

i do remember a while ago, in an old system of mine i had a small unit that fitted into a 5.25 drive bay, it had stereo speakers, cant remember where it got too, but it had decent sound, havnt seen them for a while tho, might be somebody with one in FS/FT.

minimum psu?

If i was him id be going for a 580W Hiper psu, dont know if yuou have em over there, but their very good quality, and it has a max output of 630W, so its good for the price, considering it only makes 18db of noise and is is pretty darn cool too.

you could get much better quality, and for not much extra cost by just getting a small 2.1 setup, its only 2 more small wires.

but looking at how much he has to spend, it may just be a better idea to go with a new rig, another gig of ram will improve performance, but he wants to spend his money... could always give some of it to me i guess, i really need to upgrade my pc, especially if im gonna buy supreme commander...

need advice on a new computer

Looks like a solid build to me, but like xitshsif said, you probably could get away with a cheaper sound card, and with the PSU its probably better to be safe than sorry, and going with the seagate 7200.10 seems smart. Now go on and order it!!!

Will a SATA150 Hard drive plug into a SATA 3.0GB port?

yep, but with some drives you need to put in a jumper for it to be recognised, but mainly cheapo ones.
