Thanks, I'll try all those things, one of my first thoughts was a heat issue, and when I could get it to boot up I opened up the BIOS's temp and voltage monitor, and let it sit for about 15 min, it never got above 47 C, but then again it wasn't under any load, but while in windows I did some...

A+ Certification

When I got my A+ I used a book called "A+ Q$A", or something like that. It was great for the hardware, a lot of the questions seemed to be word for word when I took the test. It isn't so great for the software/OS part though. Good luck.

Proxy settings

No, It's been bellsouth since the beginning. The only thing that has changed is the modem, replaced it becuase the other was fried.

I'm not arguing, but how is that different than going into Internet Explore and going to tools>Properties>Connections>Settings>and then Unchecking it that way?
