I was thinking more along the lines of; why a fusible link instead of a easily replaceable cheap fuse or mini resettable circuit breaker or something?

Can a Radeon 5450 Drive Two Digital Signals?

I have a 5450 as my media center PC vid card. It has 1 VGA, 1 DVI, and 1 HDMI port. It is currently driving a 1280x1024 19" monitor on the DVI port and a 40" 1920x1080 (1080P) TV on the HDMI port. While not the exact configuration you have, it does show this card will drive two digital outputs...

Looks to me like a area where the OP removed a connection as part of the tear down for photos. If it was a simple heat and pull-out part disconnect performed by the OP, it's not going to look pretty until it's cleaned up. Reason I think the OP did it as part of the tear-down is I doubt...

Which Card for RAID 0 with SSD

I'd bet he was referencing cheap <$150 RAID add-on cards like the High Points and such which do suck. Even some higher end (as in rather expensive) 6G SATA3 caching RAID Host Bus Adapters like Adaptec 6805 or the ATTO R608 seem to not be great with SSD's (at least in my testing) in typical...

Looks like I figured it out.. Something about the motherboard's OEM disk's 9.2.3 inf updater and the latest downloadable RSTe3 driver. Redid the system OS but used the downloadable 9.3 inf updater (skipped the 9.2.3 version) from Intel then directly installed the downloadable RSTe3 driver...

Well, since we make that SSD, I know it's not a firmware issue causing this issue. :-) The z68 showed no statistical difference in performance from the p67 for us, even just after it was released (they use pretty much the same HBA drivers). It's the x79 that is being a dog, even with the fastest...

Well, the low-level formats we do in the R&D labs are not standard. Ours are scripted to include returns to blank factory state with a given test firmware. Longevity is not an issue when we produce the drives :-) Guess we'll just wait for different/newer drivers..

Older motorcycles - Anyone like em?

Here's my two. 1967 Honda CL360 and a 1981 Kawasaki KZ550. Both are done up CAFE style. Neither can keep up with modern rockets, but the the quirks and personalities of these older bikes makes them so fun. Yes, I'd love to restore an old Triumph or Norton, etc, but the prices of these Brit bikes...
