Windows XP properties only reads what the CPU is identified as. The other utilities actually report the CPU clock speed. I bet you have your motherboard set to 66MHz bus speed (9 x 66 = 600MHz). Bump that up to 133MHz and you'll be at 1200MHz (9 x 133 = 1200MHz).
I had a Prescott 3.2E with a Zalman cu7000 and the temps were way up there. It would go past 70 degrees C when running dual Prime95. Even when I got water cooling it would top out at 60C. I decided to go back to my 2.4C and overclock that instead. It's now running on the same water cooler...
I replaced with P4C800 with a P4C800-E Deluxe and moved from the Promise RAID controller that was on the older board to the Intel SATA RAID controller. I've checked using SiSoft SANDRA and it says that it's operating at 66MHz, so I'm thinking that it's not on the PCI bus. Am I right?
I'm running Crucial TwinX Pro PC4000 with my 2.4C @ 3.24GHz. The RAM is running stable at DDR 540 with 3-4-4 timings. It will run at DDR 500 with 2.5-4-3 timings. The RAM is kinda expensive though, but since newer stuff is coming out that may drive the TwinX memory prices down.
For about three weeks I was running a 3.2E at 3500MHz with a 14 multiplier (multiplier trick) on a P4C800 Deluxe. I moved to water cooling about a week ago because the temps were spiking past 70 degrees C. Well, since I moved to water cooling the absence of air from the CPU HSF caused one of...
My P4C800 Deluxe recently started acting funny. Sometimes I would get random blue screens and other times it wouldn't boot. I replaced it with a P4C800-E Deluxe and it's been running fine but my monitor readings seem a little off. According to Motherboard Monitor my 12V rail is at 12.7V when...
