ide controller not working

but the hard drive attached to the ide controller is not my boot hard disc. i have additional 2 ide hard drive while my boot hard drive is a sata attached to the mobo.

ide controller not working

I recently installed an IDE controller in a PCI slot. I installed the driver for the card and it was recognized on Windows XP. I then moved my hard drive from the motherboard controller to the IDE controller. When I booted up it the computer would stop just before the XP splash screen appears...

upgrading computer

i can't seems to find anywhere online that explain the difference between TA790GX 128Mb and TA790GX-XE...... and is foxcon 790FX any different from biostar 790GX?i've read onlne review which says the biostar mobo is not giving a very good performance.

monitor display went out, HD constanly accessing

i asked around and was recommended the following for my budget: AMD phenom 9650 ECS A780GM-A ultra so with that mobo, i can ignore VGA card for now i suppose, what do y'all think? do i still neee dto upgrade power supply as well?

my monitor is CRT, not LCD and i think it can go up till 1600x1200 although that's not my current setting. i'm using the PS that comes with my enlight casing which is 400W. also, the recommendation so far are intel but what about AMD?would AMD cost cheaper these days?if so, by how much?i'm...

upgrading computer

as of now, i'm still using a 20" CRT monitor. as far as gaming resolution goes, i wanna go as far as the game allow. for example, when layin doom 3, i really wanna go all out on the graphic features, but with my current rig, it only allow 800x600 resolution. budget i would say around....300?

monitor display went out, HD constanly accessing

just got this problem few days ago, was using the computer when all of sudden the display went off. monitor is still on, just no display. CPU seems to be functioning properly but HD was constantly accessing. had to restart and all seems to be normal but won't last for 5 mins until the problem...

windows XP won't start up properly

so last nite my computer was functioning properly, this morning however when i boot up the computer, windows XP would not start up, instead, it gives a message saying that one or more file required for start up is missing. i decided to boot up from windows XP cd and run check disk. check disk...

blue screen when trying to shut down

i did not install any new software nor did i make any major tweaks in the past few days but recently, my winXP could not shutdown appropriately. blue screen appear when it try to shutdown, showing it's doin physical memory dump. wat happened???

lock out from window and an outlook question

recently i enforced windows password to access my computer but i think i might have mistyped a wrong password during te inital setup and so i'm unable to access my own computer. i'm stuck at the password screen. any idea how to reset the password? another thing, how do i migrate the emails in...

comp auto-shutdown after installing new RAM

tried upgrading the driver for mobo chip and still the same problem. i have not flash the cmos though...should i do that??

the resulting frequency does display the same value as the fsb. it was set to auto, and when i set it to 100%, it's still display the same value, which is 200. so i assume setting to auto is ok. stil, the same problem occur.
