I'm looking at building a server based on the Tyan K8SRE motherboard with a PCIe x16 slot and am thinking about using an LSI MegaRAID 320-2E PCIe x8 or an Areca ARC-1260 PCIe x4 controller card. I just have no idea if a x8 or x4 card will work in a x16 slot. Does anyone know?
Thanks!
I agree with HotshoT69, the PCTel modem is not worth 9.99. You're much better off with this Ambient/Intel based offering over at Newegg. Many hours fielding tech calls at the local ISP have fueled my hatred for PCTel products.
Go for the Fortron/Sparkle. I've never had one die on me yet. I even have a XP 2000+ with 2 cdroms and a 7200rpm hard drive running fine for over 2yrs on a 150W rated Sparkle. No other brand compares for the price.
I looked online and it doesn't mention whether this is the body only or the kit. By the price I'd say kit, but just want to make sure. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.
I thought about using them without the fans, as there will be two big Nidec blowers blowing air across. However it looks like from the picture that the fins are turned the wrong way for this to work. :(
I've looked all over but have had no success finding what I'm looking for so I thought I enlist the help here at Anand. I'm looking for a Socket A motherboard for a 1U case that has video and high quality LAN onboard. I'm not really interested in the cost of a dual setup like the Tyan K7X Pro...
I recently sold the combo above to a customer who is now complaining that internet access is really slow and pages even timeout over the wireless connection. The connection to another PC hard-wired to the 614 switch works great he says. When I originally installed the products, I remember that...
This is sort of a repost since it was included in the Amazon Friday Sale post here. However, the post didn't mention the $10 rebate on this adapter that is good until 11/2/03.
This is the Microsoft MN-520 Wireless PCMCIA Card.
Shipping was 4.90 to Virginia for me, making the card 27.78 AR.

I ordered this yesterday and was wondering if anyone else had already gotten one. I'm interested to know what heatsink/fan they send. I've yet to see a heatsink/fan for an A64 OEM processor on the website at all. Thanks.
I'm not sure this vacuum is worth $9.00. My wife purchased one of these about a year and a half ago from Target. It worked fine for about a month, then it stopped picking up anything and began to smell really bad. A call to DirtDevil revealed that the motor was blown and that I would have to...
Has anyone had experience with a cheap colocation provider that provides good service. I'm looking to move a 2U server within the month. I came across the guys at ColoMart (http://www.colomart.com) who seem pretty nice. Has anyone ever heard or done business with them?
Thanks!
