Thanks for the tip. I will have to try it. I tried to boot in Safe Mode and the XP files started loading then froze. I think you may be right on with this suggestion.
A good place to check out an on-line retailer's performance is Bizrate.com. You can read reviews and see how they rate as compared to other retailers. A couple of other good retailers to conisder are Mwave.com and Tigerdirect.com. Newegg is a solid retailer too.
I recently upgraded my friends processor and memory. I updated the BIOS so it would recognize the new processor, but now Windows will not boot. If I clear out CMOS, the computer will boot to Windows, but the processor and memory speeds are limited.
