Facebook list management question

In a sense I guess, but not exactly :) How about the whole myFriends/workFriends thing? Thought there was a way to separate into those two groups and work people could only see my posts and other work people posts, no? I kinda thought this would just be an extension of that, but with only one...

Rope break strength question... want to build a tire swing :)

Here you go... http://i.imgur.com/dkRQo.jpg The diameter is around 13-15" at the bottom, probably 10-12" or so around 20' high, but I haven't laddered up to measure it yet.

I was planning on sheathing the rope in some rubber tubing where it wraps around the trees to protect both surfaces... I guess the girdling might be a problem, but I don't think these trees are going to grow much wider there for the span of time the swing would be up...

Hmm... maybe it's not so bad? I ran the numbers with that formula on the wiki - their chart goes to 120 degress which is 71% of the load. When I ran it with 170 degrees it worked out to 101% of the load. ...so, if my load is 300#, each of the almost horizontal ropes would be loaded at...

haha, I get that - gravity doesn't matter :) I'm talking about the tire hanging vertically down from the middle of a horizontally strung rope. It won't be perfectly level, I'm sure there will be a couple of feet of sag in the middle, so how much would that angle reduce the load capacity? If...

A couple of questions about a quiet video card...

I wanted to keep it as cheap as possible - maybe $40 or under...? I had been watching the 4350 deals go by, but I think that cards slower than the 1650 I have now - the throughput on that is 8gb/s and the 1650 is listed as 22gb/s - unless throughput isn't the measure to be using...

Friend moving from the US to Mumbai for a year...

He's not tech... he an artist type guy who does post production for movies. Worked in Hollywood for years, but now the bottom is dropping out of that market & someone turned him on to the need for his skills in the Indian market... turned out to be true I guess - they made him a great offer.
