WINCHESTER AT 1.6V!!! [Edit] Ok, so my caps weren't as warranted as I thought. Initially I set the voltage in bios to 1.5875 and CPU-Z was flicking between 1.586 and 1.600, the first time i've seen it ever say 1.6V. However when I tried 1.600V in the BIOS, CPU-Z now reads 1.56 -> 1.58...

I've tried over and over again to talk to ASUS about this, but they refuse point blank to comment on it officially. The email I got from Wesley Fink about it appeared promising, and they said they'd have it fixed in 1007, which technically (after more than a month of waiting) still isn't out...

No current bios allows for more than 1.55vcore on A8N SLI or MSI!

Perhaps they fact they reintroduced 1.55 -> 1.65V in the 1007.004 BIOS is a good sign, but to be fair, nothing radical has happened since the 1002 BIOS.

A8N-SLI, SANDRA stating 2T CMD

I wouldn't worry about it, I've never seen Sandra say 1CMD and I've got the same memory as you. The best way to double check is run the memory benchmark with the BIOS set to 2T, and it should be 700MB/sec lower. From the look of your score, that appears to be about right, but perhaps a little...

1.5V -> 1.65V don't work on my Winchester, so guess they won't on anyone elses. (They provide ~1.56V) It failed super-pi and very relaxed settings: RAM, 252mhz @ 3-4-4-10, 2.95V, 1T CPU, 252 x 9 = 2268 @ 1.56V (maximum for the board) So, the CPU isn't the issue, because I've had it...

After remembering to relax my memory timings, Super-Pi works at 9 x 251.2, 1T... anyone want to take bets on it failling at 252? :) [30 seconds later...] It failed... 1T issue not fixed.

Heh, i just spotted this too and came to shout about it. I'll flash now. EDIT: Wow, this looks almost like a mini-revolution on the BIOS front. Completely different RAM settings, no added features, just laid out differently. CPU settings are also laid out differently, and.... 1.5 -> 1.65V...

Has Asus just given up on further BIOS development on the A8N-SLI?

I still believe you can flash the Deluxe BIOSes onto the Non-Deluxe board... there are lots of reports of 1006 Final working fine.

Asus A8N-SLI & Onboard Sound & 5.1 Center/Sub Speakers Issues

Centre speakers on 5.1 surround sound setups will only work when what you are playing is a surround sound source. With MP3s et al, the "LEFT" channel will go to the left hand speakers, and the RIGHT to the right. What would expect to go to the centre... left or right? The answer is neither...

New Bios A8N-SLI Deluxe 1007-003

The magic BIOS as you put it is supposed to be 1007, and although the email I got from ASUS through Wesley said "this week" (referring to last week) I would say that the final version of 1007 is the one we look at. If it isn't fixed there, then I would assume they weren't able to fix it.
