This is a phish right? You're using a 580 for 4K VR gaming and you're blaming the amount of VRAM? 🤔 As I said, moving from my 1070 to a 3070 (both 8GB) more than doubled my performance at 1440p.

Well, I don't do VR (again, very niche) because it isn't ready for mainstream yet IMO, especially the well-documented poor implementation in DCS. I believe in ED's last newsletter they say they are 'working on it'. Way too expensive to get a good headset, and they still haven't fixed motion...

I get a chuckle out of these '8GB isn't enough' threads. I paid $829 CAD ($640 USD) for my EVGA XC3 Ultra 3070, and was just playing DCS (a VRAM hog) at 1440p on my 32" IPS monitor at about 110 fps with high settings on the Syria map (most performance-heavy map in the game), and always marvel...

I'm already down to about 0.00245 eth/day on Ethermine. Whattomine is still showing 0.0035 estimate, which is just wrong. Quite a drop from 0.01 per day! I just sold the extra 3070...took the easy profit. I figure at this rate it's almost a year to pay it off at what I paid for it ($740...

It's known and accepted that the average person will exaggerate his income by upwards of 25%, but these days with social media it seems that exaggeration in all things has almost become sport. :D You'd need at least twenty 3090's to even come close to those kind of 'profits', just don't forget...

Got another new EVGA Ultra XC3 3070 if I want it (for $921 CAD, $740 USD w/tax), just have to pick it up. My intuition says though that it doesn't make sense as the Eth profits have dropped so much and EIP 1559 is on the horizon. I could flip it I suppose for $1,600. Thoughts?

Good discussion, a lot here know a lot more than I do about Crypto, but my gut tells me it's a scam, even though I am currently mining my meagre amounts of ETH on 2 - 3 GPUs. My gut also tells me it will eventually be banned by all countries, especially if it starts messing too much with power...

NH is about 10% less profit than just using Trex/PM. It's obviously still profitable, but I was at over $22 per day for a few months with the same hashrate as I have now. Again, none of this matters if you hold on to it, it only matters when you cash out. Hopefully EIP/POS will push the price...

I've noticed my per-day estimated earnings on Ethermine have really tanked in the last month or so (around 0.004 atm), sans a brief period where they pushed back up to 0.008 when the prices first dropped. That's around $10.55 USD per day with a 3070 and 1660 super running 24/7 (61.5 & 32.2 MH/s...
