Yea Overclocking isn't as bad as people make it.. i had a pentium 200 overclocked to 300mhz windows stable... and my pentium 3 733 to 850mhz stable i even had it at 950 once... and it still works fine...

Quick question on AMD vs Intel

you can not compare a 2 year old AMD to a New dual core intel CPU. you should compare the dual core intel pentium D 805 to the dual core AMD Athlon X2-3800... they are around the same price and the Athlon X2 would out perform the Intel....

Looks like Socket AM2 is going to be an awesome budget platform... Besides all I can afford is a Sempron/Celeron Anyway... Thank you AMD for bringing a powerful budget platform that is very feature rich and stable...

So why should I go AM2?

AMD's virtualization Tech will be able to do things with hardware that Intel will have to rely on software to do... http://theinq.net/?article=23721 And the K8L also supports DDR2 Memory so all AMD will have to do is fit it in the AM2 Socket...

I am going with AM2 because my sempron 64-2800 was such a good chip and the AMD platform its self is Extremely Stable. I don?t care about 20% performance difference I care about stability and features? plus the AMD platform has the better virtualization tech. and the option to upgrade to K8L...

I know that AMD's Switch to DDR2 has not really helped performance at all because of high CAS latency and timings. But these RAM sticks just might do the trick. With a little manual settings', like manually setting the memory to CAS latency 2, An manually setting the timings to 2,3,3,6 or...
