Please help me diagnose

Well, I read an article on /. about some companies including spyware that incorporated errors into the burn-process, which reduced the burn-speed on the CDs or DVDs eventually. Compensation for that is listed here. Also, thanks for the insight phisrow. I will look into it today.

I have a cable modem, and when I connect it directly to the computer, I get download/upload speeds in the range of 6000/1000. However, when I connect the computer through the router, to the modem, the speed dips considerably. What can I do to rectify this? Also, why is it that the speeds...

nero crashes when buring cd

Sometimes, while writing a file, I might have an explorer window open and the file I am burning hyphenated. That causes a crash. I am not sure that is your problem, but you might want to check it out.
