I'm not speaking from experience but I think Windows handles it better. The real issue is things like Safari are being moved half way OFF the screen after the monitor is unplugged and the lid is opened. So you have to drag and resize windows every time. It's getting very frustrating.
Does anyone else have problems with Lion, clamshell mode, and a larger external monitor?
I finally got my monitor to work with Tunderbolt via HDMI and I am noticing how bad Lion is with window management. Since the monitor is 1080p and my Airs is a diff. res the window position is all weird...
I'm sure y'all have seen the flames all over the web and even Anand's review on the new MacBook Air's and how they randomly ship with Samsung SSDs or slower Toshiba SSDs. Do y'all think this translates to ANY real world performance difference? It's hard sifting through all the sites and articles...
Out of curiosity, if you get Lion with an OEM (new Air) can you install it on your other Macs legally? I know technically you can do that with App Store purchases but not sure about the OS itself.
So there is no way to backup the actual install file to a USB since the new ones use a diff version of Lion and have that EFI redownload/restore system? I have one of the glorious US based ISPs that caps broadband download speeds so re-downloading it could be a big pain!
Does anyone know of a way we can backup/burn Lion on a NEW MacBook Pro/Air/etc. that comes with Lion preinstalled? Since you aren't downloading it from the app store I am not sure the USB trick would work on a brand new machine.
Does anyone know if Apple is updating its wired and wireless keyboards for the launch of Lion? If you look at the MacBook Air you see the f3 f4 and eject keys are different. I just bought a keyboard 10 days ago (wired) and I am trying to figure out if I should exchange it for the new one...
Dang I just realized, you can't get the 15" with the 150GB SSD and upgrade to i8. You have to pay 300 dollars extra for the 250 then another 100 to upgrade. Yet you can get the cheaper 11" and not upgrade the SSD but upgrade to i8. How does that make any sense?
Is there a difference between "tearing" and ghosting? Last night when I was playing Half Life 2: Episode 1 I noticed that whenever the citadel shook (which "shakes" the whole screen) it seemed like it was folding a piece of paper. Like you shake a paper and it crumples and then straightens out...
Thanks for the rec! I had a tough time debating between IPS and TN. It's so hard to find out what is true IPS, what is a good TN, etc. I've been researching for a week now and feel like there aren't a ton of great choices out there to fit every requirement one has. Like the Dell's would be great...
