Thanks Adul, afraid that's true. Thought of that after I had restarted into the welcome screen 3 times already. Then when I tried, no change.

All started after a reboot of windows xp yesterday after installing the latest virus definitions for norton. Only have one user account and it has a password attached to it. So windows boots up to the welcome screen and you enter password to enter. Problem is when I go to enter the pswd I...

a7n8x ... is it possible?

I did that exact setup 'blindspot', but used a pci raid solution.. Just go and grab a cheap promise tx2 or a high point raid card... Won't cost you too much and you shouldn't have any problems.

What would be my most effective solution(s) for getting rid of the computer slow downs?

I used some cheap ddr 2100 ram... could that be it? It was fry's generic brand... and thanks Filter, I'll go ahead and do those again.

Current Computer Spec... MSI KT3 Ultra Athlon 1800 1GIG of ram 2100 DDR Audigy MP3 Radeon 9700 2x IBM Desktar 60GPX's Bottom line the computer laggs to much... When doing alot of multitasking, or just using powerful programs like photoshop or what not, the computer drops to ultra slow...

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I will try a few of these tomorrow when I get the chance. Again thank you! Also it's not a bad stick of ram, since we've tried 8 diff DIMMS. :( It could be that there is not enough ram, but a computer with half the CPU and only 128MB of ram runs this...
