Couldn't take a tripod to the museum, so I found a flat bar railing and set the camera up with all the kids running around -- kinda of sketchy, but I was going to get a shot of the Empire State Building!

Are P&S compacts a bad idea in 2024?

I think the first thing to do is determine what focal length you most use and then work out what smallish setup would fit the bill. Otherwise, you'll buy something that makes you wish you'd walked with everything else.

That Auto option on LR sometimes produces the weirdest results, lolol. As for the Moon moving, yeah, I saw on Reddit people using trackers to capture more images or frames and then stacking them using some astrophotography software to get super sharp results. If it was some other, more...

Getting Rid of a Red Winged Blackbird

If you want to shoot the bird, I suggest a used A7III and a Sigma 100-600mm. Fairly cheap combo.
