A Ninja scythe is another £25 +£80 for Mobo (unless there's cheaper ones?) + £60 for 2 GB Ram = £165. I can get a new E6850 for £130, so it seems hardly worth it.

Btw Markfw900. Those 2 E6300 are they running with stock cooling? And how come you have a whole farm of PC's? Are you running an internet cafe or something? :)

Ok, seems like you can get 2 GB PC6400 for £30. Of course that plus £80 or so for Mobo and I'm not sure it's worth it for me anymore, as I'll probably get next to nothing for my current mobo and not much more for the RAM :( Hmmm...

Thanks. Shockwave, that's an interesting read. I read an article the other day that there's basically no significant difference in speeds whether it's 667 or even 1066. I'll see if I can find it. A bit confused now.

Mondoman: how much in terms of overclocking can you expect from those boards? Myocardia: That depends on the Mobo doesn't it? I wasn't able to get much more than 2.0 Ghz with the 775 dual-VSTA. Regalk: what sort of RAM do you have? are you using stock cooling?

I have an Asrock 775Dual-VSTA mobo, but it's really a low budget mobo which can't handle much more than 10-20% overclocking and that's not really enough for me anymore. Now, I haven't really kept up with new gear the last year or so, but I remember reading this article about getting a 100%...

System is not freezing. I can unplug the mouse and replug it and most of the times it'll start working again......for another 5-20 min. , or I can plug the ball mouse in after the freezing and it'll start working using that. I'm not overclocking due to only having a 350W PSU and DDR 333 RAM. I...

guys, can you help me out here. Whenever using a optical mouse, both in the USB and PS2 connection (with adapter) the mouse freezes after 5-20 min. and the light on the mouse (microsoft) goes out. My ball mouse doesn't have that problem. It's not USB though. But I don't really like ball mice...

Hmm.... didn't seem to do much good to set it on high. I even had 2 crashes when the pc was left alone and all it was doing was uploading some files to my server. Not exactly something that maxes out the cpu or eats a lot of memory. Is there any tools that can test my RAM and check my PSU load?

I keep getting blue screen crashes every 5 hours or so. If I play a CD in the drive this usually happens within 1 hour though. I thought it could be a RAM problem or perhaps psu, but I really don't have much connected to or in the pc; dvd-writer, pci-e Geforce 6200, soundcard and external...

Yeah, got mine working :) Turned out to be the graphics card that was the problem. I suppose you can't blame the mobo for not working with my ancient no name 32 MB AGP card, but I'm a bit surprised it didn't work with Asus Extreme AX300SE. Now I got an Asus EN6200TC512 and it's running...

Yes, both connectors were erm...connected. I presume you mean the 20 pin and 4 pin? Otherwise fans wouldn't spin. I'm gonna see if I can borrow a stick of newer RAM and graphics card at work, cause I can't keep going and buy new components just to test the damn thing :frown:

thanks Mr Vain. I have tried one stick at a time and both sticks in both sockets. That didn't help. Isn't Single channel the same as one stick at the time?
