I just installed a brand new HD into my Nexstar usb 2.0 enclosure. It needs to be formatted to NTFS. Windows is reading it as an unknown device. Anyone have any pointers?

I have a motorola Gateway. It is a Cable modem and wireless router in one. The problem is that It only has one ethernet connection. I really don't want to buy a switch just to get more wired connections. I do have a Belkin wireless router though.
