Decisive, or crushing? Is it the one where you need the bonus to be twice the strength of the opposing unit stack or something? Also, is the game down for anyone else?

yeah i was saving up for city hall, but then my quest line has me needing magic. so that's a small detour. probably won't start building city hall for about three days i think. really regretting building two levels of stupid blacksmith early on.

65/29 is slightly better. Don't bother using the = sign. Do everything as you are in jaccari. (Maybe it can give you a quick idea of how many troops you need to use, but I've never actually wanted an equal stack) Edit: Also, why do you have only 1 skill. And do you have any magic to use...

While I have a total army strength a little over 23k, my last few fights (against outer ring) have been with armies of strength: ~7600, ~7600, ~6000, ~6500. My point is that in general, you want to use as small an army as possible, to get more exp, and also that if you play around with it, and...

I believe it means that if usually you are able to recruit 15 imps every day for example, you are now able to recruit 16. More powerful for those units with low units per day. But valuable early on too, because it seems people are at least a little bit hamstrung by small army size.

I had originally written something wrong in response to your point about the barbarian hero. But what you wrote about Barbarian Heroes/Knight heroes affecting after battle losses is correct. I don't think it's a bad idea to have Barbarian and Knight on the same hero, but I have no experience...

Yeah you only lose 30% of the "losses" during battle. Think of it, as you stated, as injuries.

I don't think it's a big difference. Forts help to prevent pillaging, and are only effective when they touch a mine. So the inner ring lets forts touch two mines, and thus is ideal. Research towers only affect one mine (at least in your first city) and thus can be safely placed in the outer ring.
