I generally use DOS Ghost for backups and clones too but managed a similar transition recently with Reflect by booting from the WinPE Rescue media, selecting clone this disk and the target disk, then dragging each partition from source to target and adjusting the cloned partition's properties as...
Thanks but I did try Update Driver online and also found the vendor drivers seperately but preferred to avoid installing them. Based upon the experience with the two similar adapters and Mr Evil's experience with the same one, it is most likely a defective.
Surely the purchase date with receipt should be able to trump the manufacture date (or manufacture date plus sixty days or whatever channel allowance).

VID_05E3&PID_0743&REV_0819
Works on 3.0 port only & not with extension cable.

Good idea. So I tried a Memtest86 microSD Card which is Linux and does boot in a USB 2.0 adapter in the USB 2.0 ports, but alas it does not boot nor is it seen by the UEFI in this USB 3.0 adapter. Can a USB 3.0 device somehow not be backwards compatible?
I have a USB 3.0 microSD card adapter like this:

VID_05E3&PID_0743 is Genesys Logic but should not require specific drivers on Windows 7.
Indeed, it works fine on an Intel chipset USB 3.0 port but on same 2.0...
