I've read the entire thread, and some of the things you guys have mentioned sound terrible. But jadinolf is quite right in his statment at the end of this quote. Very few everyday occurances could even be compared.

I'm 100% sure you used too much. Clean it all off with some rubbing alcohol and apply a small amount in the very center of the chip, about the size of a piece of rice. When you install the heatsink, it will spread itself out.
I've read that you need to install the uli drivers first, before your cards drivers. I don't have the link, but it was in a big Asrock 939 thread, possibly at [Hforums]
It seems there's no fix but to reformat.
