You can check the health of your SSD using Crystal Disk Info. This will also work with an USB adapter. Post a screenshot of the results.

If the drives comes from a notebook, the manufacturer of the notebook would be the proper partner to talk to, not the SSD manufacturer.

By the way, the Secure Erase Utility does not work out of the box with NVidia Graphic Cards. You need to use internal Intel or AMD. Only then the display is properly readable. With NVidia you need the SEGUI0-Workaround.

If it is hardware encrypted you need to reset the PSID on the Drive to use it again. Without this step there is no other way to use it again. You can revert PSID if you have the proper tool from the manufacturer. Or the manufacturer can do it for you, so you have to contact Support either way...

OCZ RD400A solid upgrade?

Dont expect boot time speedups. M.2 controllers need more time to be initialized than SATA controllers. But after the boot is will be faster than a decent SATA drive. If the SSD is the bottleneck of your conversions, you may see a boost, I can't tell for sure, sorry.

Crucial MX100 "lost" the security features?

eDrive set to "enabled" does not mean you are actively using it. You have to enable it before a OS install and after that use bitlocker to really use it an set a key/password. And it does not matter if you have a TPM (not TPM Module, the M stands for Module) or if you have a BIOS option for it...

But note that this value does not decrease or reset, it stays for a lifetime. If the problem is still present, the value will increase. If it's not increasing, there is no problem =)
