I tried getting my Opty 165 naked and really stuffed up. I finally succeeded but somehow broke a pin right in the middle of the processor. Now its a no boot situation with my DFI ultra d refusing to acknowledge the 165 is even there. The broken pin is missing does anyone know what else I could...
I don't want to burst your bubble but this stepping 0551 vpmw seems to be great up to 2.6Ghz with a slight bump in volts then it hits a wall for Prime at 2.65Ghz no matter how many volts you throw at it. SuperPi 32m at 2.77Ghz @ 1.55v . Anyways you have a FX60 chip for a fraction of the cost.
Thanks for the replys. I'm running at 2.6Ghz @ 1.39v 24/7 no bsod, lockups, crashes, gaming and folding no problems. Just seems pointless to run 2.6Ghz @ 1.51v 24/7 for COMPLETE stability when all it achieves apart from being Prime stable is to increase temps.
I can get my Opty to run SuperPi 32m at 2.6GHz @ 1.39v but it takes 1.51v to make it dual prime stable. Is such a big difference in volts normal for SuperPi 32m and Prime both to be stable? I can get it up to 2.77GHz SuperPi 32m @ 1.55v but core0 fails Prime within a minute and I don?t want to...
I'm getting 2.76 SuperPI stable and 2.65 Prime stable same stepping 0551VPMW opty 165

I've got a Opty 165 CCBWE 0551VPMW and I'm very happy with the results 2.75Ghz SuperPI 32m stable at 1.5v I can get it up to 2.8 stable with 1.6v but for 24/7 I'm happy to sit on 2.75Ghz
