New Silverstone LC13 HTPC

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I'll be waiting for the LC13 to hit the UK, or maybe look at one of them PCIX riser cards and an 11.....

New Silverstone LC13 HTPC

Thanks. seems to solve the Smart Fan issue, but not the CIA MIB. Thanks for the info though.

Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI DPS (Dual Power System)

Anyone know if this actually adds anything to the Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI, apart from to its acoustics.... (I know what the blurb says, but with a decent PSU cant really see the point).

Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI Easy Tune 5

Does anyone actually use Easy Tune 5? I've installed it, and it seems like its a decent interface, however the buttons for CIA MIB and SMART FAN are greyed out? Manual says enable in the BIOS, but they already are. Anyone have a similar issue?

New nForce 4 drivers released

Anyone found that after installing the NVIDIA Firewall, there machine wont shut down? Mine hangs on the "Windows is shutting down". even cant restart after a chkdsk (so OS isnt fully up), so doesnt seem to be a hung process. (Using a Gigabyte SLI) Also, whats everyones thoughts on this...

For Vedder323, to enable NCQ follow this: Device manager, IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, go to the ADMA Controller (I have two.....), the second one in my list allows me to change the settings in the primary & secondary channel tab (first one doesnt, all greyed). 4th tick box down, Enable Command...

I was the same to be honest. Have a gigabyte SLI and had no problems. had turned off due to scare stories!

Update on the NCQ stuff, although I posted earlier I'd installed it, but not enabled. Just checked my device settings and its enabled by default.... Someone at nvidia must have some confidence in this version then.... nothing broken as yet!

New nForce 4 drivers released

Installed them an hour or so ago. Havent enabled NCQ yet (need a stiff drink first.....) on my Seagate NCQ drives, but have noticed that the problem I had with NAI not always starting on bootup has gone away. Alongside NVraid crashing a few mins after boot up (raid 1 system).

How To Install GA-K8N9F-9 + WinXp SATA, It Is Possible!

From a lot of posts i've seen, the current nforce4 drivers have some NCQ issues which eventually leads to corrupt data. I did have it enabled, but now removed because of this. Waiting for Nvidia to publish some nforce4 drivers on their website (which they havent done yet for some odd reason....)

Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI vs. ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe

I'd go with the gigabyte. Had two Asus SLI boards, both with problems, and you need a hefty power supply (about 18w on the 12v) for the ASUS, otherwise you get all sorts of problems. Now got a gigabyte SLI. very impressed. no issues at all. & chipset fan is quieter than ASUS!!!!

Strange. Heard this kind of scenario a few times, however with my gigabyte sli board, so same chipset, XP sp2 installed straight on, with no issues seeing the drive and not hangs/crashes. any idea why???!!!!
