I had posted HERE thinking that the chipset drivers were the problem I had to machine shutdown but having installed them I still had problems. The machine would keep the PSU running even though windows appeared to SD properly, although, there was no message saying 'it's safe to turn...
Thanks all but I have now FIXED my shutdown problem WITHOUT doing a fresh install.
I simply downgraded back to the .8 BIOS.
Appreciate you may not be able to if the BIOS fixed something for you but I think I'll wait for the next BIOS release before trying again.
Thanks. When you say fresh install..do you mean a new install of XP or of the drivers.... please don't say XP :-).
Also, once the drivers are unpacked, what do I do with them then. The Nvidia package just self-installs.
Finally, you say you're running on 1013 with 6.66 with no problems?
Me too. Neither the first nor (supposedly improved) second download would work properly. The administration engine makes it very hard to troubelshoot and the active network manager thing (the bit that should alert and recommend a course of action on detecting ilicit network behaviour) didn't...
