just noticed this thread popped back up. My solution was to update all the anti-virus/spyware tools on my machine and then just slave the other machines drive to mine and it worked fine. I was able to remove all viruses and spyware.
i got my movado used off ebay for a good price but it needed a battery. I called the closest authorized repair center 2 states away and they quoted me at $180 to replace the battery and they said it was because they warranty the fact that it is waterproof. I said screw it and went to a local...
i never even thought of that. thanks for kickstarting the thinking. i just plugged it in and avg starting going crazy finding all the virus. i've been scribbling down the virus names as i go. so far they are mostly all variations of SHeur2
I am trying to help my uncle clean up a computer he has. Currently it will not boot into windows normally (it hangs when you click on a user). The machine can only boot up in safe mode. I have tried various boot discs and anti-virus programs. Everything from kaspersky, clamwin, mcaffee...
so inherently you would just have the cat6 coming out of the way and into a patch panel. Not sure the wife would like that all to much. especially having a network cabinet in the office. unless there is such a thing a small patch panel enclosure.
Since i can't see needing more than 6 wired...
i appreciate the help jack. another question. So I now know i should run solid core plenum cat6 to toolless keystone jacks in each of the rooms but how do you start the very beginning of things.
obviously there is the verizon gateway and I will need some way to split the wired signal...
i might be thinking of this the wrong way then. I may be going a little to cheap with my setup. This is my first time wiring a house so it's a learning experience. I'll give you my setup and see what my best path should be.
I will have a verizon fios gateway in one room. i then need to...
So I am moving into a new house and want to run cat6 to a couple of the room. I can run the cabling in the walls alongside the coax to the plates. So I started looking at monoprice to see what I should use for my jacks. Obviously for the punch downs i would need a punch down tool vs. the...
NPO's can be a tough breed to work with. From my experience they usually never know what they want and have difficulty with making set decisions. Plus you need to hear input from everyone. From the secretary to the head of the organization.
Also people feel like when things are being...
6-8hours from new york. You could always hit new hampshire (white mountain area) or maine. There are some beautiful mountains you could lightly hike around. Plus some shallow rivers so stella could splash around a little but not be over her head. Plus it might be a little cooler up there as...
hell i've been waiting 10 years to get called for jury duty finally. I got called like 2 months ago finally, but like 2 weeks before i got a letter saying they were all set. I think it would be an interesting experience.
Winner!
The problem was i needed to set the jumper on one of the ide drives to master. I was assuming the scsi was the master. Also for clarification on these drives jumper off is slave mode. The machine sees both perfectly fine.
basically the bios can see them but once inside windows i've got nothing nothing in device manager, nothing in disc management, the only glimmer of hope i had was the firsttime booting up aftr installing them when i was in windows. In the bottom right it looked like windows was reocgnizing them...
