Are we ever going to reach an equilibrium of sorts where CPU speed becomes irrelevent?

On a side note everyone told Chuck Yeager that noone could fly faster than the speed of sound but he did and now jets fly upto about 3.5x the speed of sound. it all a matter of Technology. moving really fast from point A to point B isn't the only way to get there fast. make piont B closer to...

Power Supplies

Hey kinda off topic but still about my PSU. my -12V rail only reads -0.35V in speedfan and the -5V rail only reads -3.70V is this something I need to worry about? The other rail are fine th worst one is the 12v rail it it reads 11.90V so I'm not really worried about that one and my Vdimm is 2.11...

Can someone help me in determining what kind of video card this is?

How is PCI-x backwards compatible with PCI? I don't even own a PCI-x Board but I know the PCI-e x16 Slots are even longer than AGP8x and the the slots get shorter as you go down in Lanes and I thought x1 PCI-x Slots were only about an inch long as opposed to a PCI 2.3 slot which somewhere around...

OC on a ECS P4M800-M(1.0a)

Before you go and buy a conroe.. think about this

I thought that kentsfield will be out in 4Q'06 I thought that it wass orginally slated for 2Q'07 but Intel ramped it up early. Also I know that Anand's test between AM2 and Conroes memory Controllers showed that the Coroes Branch prediction pretty much negated AM2's on-die Memory Controller...

I know that Woodcrest is based on Core design also, but isn't Itanium II already 64bit enhanced for server/enterprise market. so wouldn't it be logical that woodcrest will be 64bit optimized too, and thus it would be dumb of Intel to spend the money and or transistors to make "home" C2D's blaze...
