i tested it with another video card and it worked! so it was the video card.
now i just need to figure out how to connect to the internet on my Vista machine. i used to be able to connect to the internet by plugging the Ethernet cable into my Dell...now it doesn't work. i'm using ATT Yahoo...
the video card requires the 16x PCI slot, which is the only blue one on board. my computer boots w/o the card...there's just not video signal whether it's in it or not.
The video card connects to the PCI express x16 slot and no other wires are attached to it from the mobo. When it's attached to the slot, the fan on the card spins so it's getting power from the mobo. The 3 short beeps remain regardless of whether the card is in or not.
I just built a new PC with this board. I'm having some trouble getting the video to work. Here's what I have:
