I can't remeber the last time I turned on the TV (I lied: It was to watch the last Top gear before christmas).
My gaming has been two hours on Doom3.
I've spent around £150 on games last week to try and rekindle my lost spirit.

you should be able to find a bundle deal for a core upgrade (MB, CPU, RAM) which will work out the same price at the 1GB ram for the Laptop.
Try and find a 2.5 Mobile Barton (hard to find now - but you can easily OC on nearly all MB's - even value ones)
Leave the laptop as it is - everyone...
If I even open the package (cut the security seal) the company will say second hand.
It's not the warrenty I'm worried about, I just want to make sure I have the right part before opening
I don't want to install it to find out. As mentioned before the company I bought if from are very anual about returns policy.
Example if I ordered a part and find out it was something else to company will say "you will have to keep it 'cos it's now second-hand and we can't exchange it"

I have just recently purchased, what I beleive to be a A64 939 3.0Ghz 90nm Winchester retail.
I there a way I can check to see if this is correct.

You can obtain a trial version (!5 days I beleive) which sits on top of XP SP2, then when the days run out it automatically deletes itself.
Those with a TV tuner card (with the right software support) can work their PC as a Tivo without having to fork out the extra money.
