one of the nvme drives was loose and causing a failure. Skillz has fixed that and it's just repairing the crashed tables once more and should be running again soon.
Oh, and @mmonnin03 I fixed stats3 too. One slight parameter change as the db server has a different IP address
Thanks Mark ! However it barely uses the cpu's to be honest, they don't hurt, but main thing is the fast drives and lots of memory.
I work with some 4Tb servers at my job with HANA in memory database.. now those would be sweet. All in Azure these days.
Long time since I logged in here :)
Yes, I'm getting too old to mess with hardware. Today I drove over to meet Skillz and gave him the DB server (2x hexcore xeons, with 128Gb Ram and 5 nvme drives plus SSD's. Not the bulk of the DB server was donated a few years ago by zombie67 (SetiUSA).

All of the 3rd Party stats sites are waiting on WCG from implementing their new security services to allow us access to the xml (as well as API) data. I requested it last friday and they have acknowledged.
I added all of the id's from TeAm into my check for WCG badges. There is no global feed for this data from the WCG site, so I have to pull the data individually.
This gives the ability to display the badges from WCG and every other project in a banner like mine below, just use your cpid as...
I can change in the database any projects that are no longer updating. I've updated the one for Rieselsieve now, give it 30mins to replicate into the live database.
Simap, as you say will have to be fixed at the project site otherwise any change i made would just get overlaid on the next xml...
It's a binary collation problem on the teamname, I've switched all columns which contain the text teamname to be binary now. Does have the side effect of now not lumping together users for teams where spelling is the same but the case is different as you had previously...
TeAm AnandTech is now...
As often as I can. If I'm not getting the stats out there as soon as possible after they are published then I ain't doing my intended service :)
Honestly, as discussed, I don't think I'm wearing down the drives. It's the SATA Controller that went bad in the last box. The current box has a...
Love to but it's cost prohibitive when you are talking about two arrays, but that's one of the reasons I'm considering replicating over to a database physically held on the webserver instead. I don't use mysql replication as such either, I wrote my own and copy the raw files (different table...
It's not really the access time as I cache a lot of the queries/pages anyway. The SSD's are a must for the replication though. I'm pushing 10's of Gb's of data across drives many times a day. With Conventional drives it slows the whole process down and totally delays the deployment of updated...
It's relatively simple on any *nix platform. I use RHEL for work and CentOS at home. But I'd recommend not even using the gui on that machine. Try this.
1. install as you did using the sh boincxxx.whatever.sh
2. cd BOINC
3. create a remote_hosts.cfg file and enter the IP address OR name...
dang it, I had it all ready last night and scripted it so it would rotate in the correct stats.php and I had a typo which made it fail.
Should be there now..
Sorry!
