Super excited and need advice

There is nothing wrong with ASRock Z77 and Z87 series motherboards. I used a Z77 Pro3 in my gaming rig for a little bit and did some overclocking with it too. Some people complain about load line calibration, but it's a solid board none-the-less.

Corsair TX650 PSU Powers Up, but computer won't post. Is it the PSU?

I would definitely check the build and ensure that there are no additional motherboard stand-offs making contact with the motherboard. This will cause a No-Power / No-POST / puff of smoke scenario. PS: You're hijacking the thread. ;)

[OCN] EVGA rep confirms new Nvidia card

I would have killed to have seen another GX2 series card. I loved my trusty 9800 GX2, it just seem to play everything at max settings (1080p) and not even flinch. This is after having the card for 2+ years.

If anything, I wouldn't suspect the video card to go before the motherboard. Pre-Core iX motherboards from MSI were pretty spotty for reliability and I am surprised that this one lasted as long as it did. It's easier to test the graphics card rather than to attempt to troubleshoot a motherboard...

Laptop shutdown after RAM upgrade

Transcend Value RAM is pretty much rubbish, and it probably isn't certified to work in a Dell system. If you are going to upgrade your memory, find the brand of RAM that is currently installed and replace the smaller modules with bigger ones. If you cannot do that, I would recommend Crucial or...

Building a PC-based NAS

100 Mbit Ethernet will outperform 300 Mbps WiFi, so there is no concern for your WiFi to be faster or slower. Your Gigabit switch will help increase network transfer speed between wired devices, but won't increase WiFi throughput.

Recommend me a memory (based on this specs)

1. Your math is wrong. You have to remove the 4GB module that is currently installed and install 2x8GB modules. That will add up to 16GB of installed memory. 2. I would highly go with G.Skill over Kingston in a heartbeat. There is also no point in installing HyperX memory into a 'value' laptop...
