Here's what i did. I didnt have winxp install beofer it idid this and i also have windows xp pro.
Enabled hyperthreading in bios. Installed windows xp. Checked the performance tab of task manager. Saw two processors. Assumed i had hyperthreading enabled.
Got my 3ghz chip on Friday, Popped it in, turned on the box, board posted fine, went into bios and setup hyperthreading, Installed windows xp. Everything went fine.
Ran prime95 for 8 hours and it was stable.
Board came with bios version 1.2 . Now i will not flash anything newer becuase of all...

Well one day before the price cut. Prices at Newegg for a retail 3.0ghz 800 fsb is $450 and googlegear is at $459.

While googlegear seems to be constantly cutting the price of this chip. currently at $459 with free 2nd day shipping

Pricegrabber is showing that prices are starting to trickle down. Googlegear had the 3ghz 800fsb chip at 500 this morning, and its now down $11 to $489.
I'm looking to pick one up around $400 to $420 but i might have to settle for a higher price.
Man i hate waiting. I have a new computer i'm building and the cpu is the final piece of the puzzle.
