Good Restaurants for Somebody else's Birthday

I'm looking for restaurants that harrass the birthday guy/gal, preferably in the Long Beach, CA area. Its for a coworkers birthday, and unfortunatly they already know about the ones I know about, so will avoid them: TGI Fridays - Sing to you, and tie ballons to you (boring!) The Loft...

Day Spa Recomendations

Okay well that is pretty close to home, so I can go by and check that out. Anyone else have anyother recomendations? Somewhere where you have maybe sent the wife or girlfriend, or maybe even gone yourself?

Does anybody have recomendations on a day spa in Southern California? I want to get my wife a "day at the spa" as part of her christmas gift, and have no idea which ones are good/bad. We live in Orange County, but any one in the Orange County, Los Angeles or Inland empire/Palm Springs is fair...

What's the weirdest "small world" thing that has ever happened to you?

My family and I were touring the Smithsonian, 2 summers ago. Later that day, we got on a plane and headed back home to Garden Grove, Califonia. We went to chuch the next day, and a guy came up to us and asked my dad, "Were you at the Smithsonian yesterday, because I think I saw you there?"...

how fast have you ever driven/riden?

I topped out at 120 MPH going down hill in a Dodge grand caravan as driver. It was a clear blue day in Montana where the speed limit used to be "Reasonable and Prudent," I determined that 120 MPH was both reasonable and prudent, although I only had my dirver's permit, and not a license yet.
