To get it out of the way, yes I want to upgrade to Ryzen ASAP, but would like to use this as a second PC then and not sure when I'll buy a whole new platform. Also, the last CPU I seriously OC'd was an Athlon XP 2500+ (a beast of a chip bought on here) so it has been awhile.
My setup.

Thanks for the excellent review, I've been eyeballing this set since it was announced. My question is at this same price point sits the 4 series 65" TCL. Given that it'll be in a dark room and viewing angle won't be a major issue for me, I'm wondering if the 6 series is worth it? Have you...
Thanks for the response ikachu. I'm the same way with forgetting unused languages. I went and learned basic Perl but without having to use it it'd be lost on me now.
I guess for now I'll mess around with both, hopefully finding a project before I get too heavily invested in either one.
I should add I'm not wanting this to be a full time job right away. I'm disabled and can't do a 9-5 but when I am feeling halfway normal I have free time. I'd like to work on a few pet project ideas and would love to help out on something open source. I was always a talented programmer, even...
Howdy,
I know these threads are common but given my situation I'm still not sure what I should focus on. The last time I did any serious programming was 2003-2005 or so and now so much has changed, especially the use of frameworks. When I was a comp sci student we were the last year they...
Back from wally-world and installing. Was a MUCH longer line than at BC launch. Have a case of "refreshments" and a footlong sub ready to do the nerdy thing and play tonight/this morning. Have fun folks!

I've used DOSBOX for awhile now and it's a great program. I still use it for master of magic/master of orion and a few other games. Oddly enough, before I got dosbox I'd boot to Linux to run any old DOS game....
I had that speed issue trying to play the Art of War. (was unplayable) Days...
One quick and dirty way I noticed the double strumming was on the song list. If I would (moderately) strum up and down, the highlighted song would slowly move down the list... so each move down was registering more than once compared to the exact same action upwards. At least that's the best...
I just had to do the RMA thing with mine, bought game a little over a week ago. :( Down strum went out as I guess is usual from all the comments online. I'm guessing mine was one of the first wave since the store I got it from only had 1 for the PS3 and I ended up getting it out of the back of...

Sports games in general seem to go streaky for me, picking up an old hockey game and playing it heavily for a month or two, etc...
Kingdom Hearts was an absolutely great game. I hear KH2 is good as well but, though I own it, I've yet to really play it. That's the only problem with the PS2 deals at this point: there are too many great, cheap games for it to play them all. (a good problem to have) Even a simple, well...
Wired controllers work fine for the PS2 unless you have a certain need for wireless.
There are tons of games across genres and for every age group. You can also find them cheap at $20 or below (was recent 2 for $25 sale at circuit city) so building a nice collection doesn't take too much...
