I think this is an average price for the 213t, even Best Buy has the same 213t for 1199.99 + free shipping from bby.com or instore for that same price. Really all you save from dell is tax, and many states will have to pay that regardless.
There is no exact ammount of time your battery will last, in general Lithium Ion batteries (like the one in your laptop) can be charged and discharged about 500 times before they start to deteriorate. If you fully charged and used up your battery everyday for a year you would be close to that...
Money sent via western union is much harder to track, thus many scammers will require that you use it. You can see this in many of the ebay scam auctions (BUY a new 17" powerbook for $500!!! and others of that ilk).
The HP that you mention in you last post looks nice. The Pentium M...
If you decide to buy it I would make sure you pay with something that would be traceable (IE: not cash and not western union) and get/ verify as much information as you can about the seller. If you are willing to put up with the size and weight of the s609 it is a very powerfull, full featured...
I would be rather wary of any place advertising a price so out of line with the laptops 'going price'. Is this a private deal or have you seen a store advertising this price?
I consider battery life, size and weight, and screen size to be the most importent features of a laptop. Processor power is secondary in a portable machine. With that said the pentium-M based chips (as dothian will be) are better suited to my idea of what a laptop should be.
I dont know much about the specific models you ask about but as a general rule of thumb:
Sennheiser:
Sound: very good
Price: moderate to expensive
Grado:
Sound: good
Price: cheap to moderate
So, depending on your budget id recomend either Sennheisers or Grados. I have...
Many people here will recomend the IBM T series laptop as it performs extremly well and is very durable. A loaded T series laptop will be at the upper end of your pricerange though there have been hot deals in the past few months that would bring down the price a bit.
Other than the IBMs you...
a gimick.
The Athlon XP-M is a fast enough processor, comparable to an intel P4-M, but it will use much more battery power when running than a comparable Pentium-M processor.
Look for an IBM or toshiba with the pentium-M and a better graphics card (ATI 9600 is top of the line now I believe)...
The Athlon XP-M is a better processor but Toshiba tends to make better quality/ more reliable machines with sharper screens, so it really depends on what you are looking for.
