Umm he's not burning it in, he just wants to make sure its stable. However if you are going to be running seti on the computer, you might wanna test with prime 95 for 24 hours.
While I am going to have to agree that watercooling is near silent, there are better ways to reach a quiet pc. And cheaper. You can use sound dampening material, you can get larger fans at slower rpms. You can get a hard drive enclosure that dampens sound from that too.
Well that graph could easily be missunderstood. Sure the 2200+ uses less power, but the core is smaller so that heat has less area to leave from. So in effect the cores would actually be closer together then one would think. I'm actually not sure which would run hotter.
I also thought that running the cpu and the memory at the same frequency was benefitial, so I was very confused the first time I heard about these ratio boards. So anyone care to fill me in?
Sorry but I'm going to have to agree here. If you turned it on with the heat sink off for even a few seconds its toast. Too bad you didn't have a p4(or a motherboard that takes advantage of AMD's thermal protection), I think the thermal protection on them would have saved you.
Of course the g4 go is better then a radeon mobility considering that vpu is like over a year old. The radeon 7500 mobile on the other hand performs almost neck in neck with the g4 go.
I'm not saying he can't I'm just saying I think he can't. Because I have tried in the past and unless its like a registry entry, I can't figure it out.
I did some research on the 8200 to see what it was all about. I must say I am slighly impressed. I looked at the options and there is a 15" UltraSharp UXGA display available. It has a 25ms response time and a 1600x1200 resolution which is pretty damn good for an lcd. If I were to get an lcd...
Well I'm now considering getting the ss51 with a radeon 9700. I didn't know it overclocked in 1mhz intervals. Can anyone tell me the max supported chip speed on that motherboard? With the prices going down on Sept 1 (on the p4s not the case), its looking very attractive to me.
Man you and I have a totally different deffinition of totally well. Do you really consider having to make the operating system run at a bare minimum and still being slow "real well". Heck using win xp on a celeron 1.7 with 128 seems like hell to me.
