My First C2D Overclock

Well it passed Orthos for 24 hours at 3.8, just wondering if people still consider this to be stable or if there's some other torture test out there. I suppose the ultimate test will be if it ever crashes or acts up on me.

Zalman CNPS9500, temps seem high for the voltage but those are the core temps in the picture not the "cpu temp"

PSU Advice

I need a new PSU for my gaming rig which can be seen in my sig. It was running strong for about a year and a half when my Antec PSU died. It always ran hot and I dont think it had what it takes to handle my 6800GT, overclocking, and my watercooling setup. Ive been shopping for a new power supply...

How much voltage did it take your venice to reach 2.7 Ghz?

Sorry kinda off topic but my 3200+ winchester got to 2.7 at 2.6v and it idles at about 34C and 45C load.

Is 1.55V too high for AMD Venice 3000+?

Damn 1.71 volts. I've been away for a while and last I knew people were worried about frying the memory controller. Did it end up being an issue?

Replacing heatsink

I agree run the processor for a bit before you take it off. I was moving my hardware into a new case and I made the mistake of taking the stock heatsink with a thermal pad off last so I couldnt run it to loosen it up to put my waterblock on, it took some force but there was no damage thankfully.

Prime95 heat!

That seem pretty decent. Back before I got watercooling my temps use to get up to 62C with my 3200 winchester at 2.55 with a voltage of 1.5 with stock cooling, that was where i drew the line.

the xp-90 and xp-120 dont come with a fan, so buy a silent fan and it'll be quiet.

The fx'es are aimed at different buyers so it doesnt really affect the other chips.
