Dude, if you're gonna be an a$$, please read the post to be an informed one at best... I've disabled ALL power saving features between the CPU and GPU and still have issues. If someone wants to tell me that this laptop WILL NOT perform on DC the same as AC, and there is nothing I can do about...

Just ran 3DMark05 on the system on AC and DC. AC score was 3858 and DC score was 1572. This doesn't seem right. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

So are you saying that it is possible that the battery cannot put out enough power for the 6800 to perform as well as a 6200? That seems ridiculous.

Go with 2 WD Raptor SATA Drives. They spin at 10k RPMs. Don't think the others do. You can get the Raptors (8MB Cache) in 2 different flavors, 36GB and 72GB. Come with 5 yr warranty as well.

Bump. Opening up this issue again. I've seen an inferior laptop run MUCH better than the Z81sp on battery. (Sony VAIO S460) That system has 512MB of RAM, 128MB GeForce Go 6200. Explain to me why that system runs 100% better on battery versus the Z81sp. (256MB GeForce Go 6800, 1GB RAM, P4 3.0GHz...

I am going to have to say that I don't think it is possible to get the same performance from the 6800 Go on DC as with AC. I believe you are correct in saying that the battery does not have the power to push this card to max performance. I did a quick survey and noticed that the power pack (AC)...

"comes to a halt" means that the system runs horribly. It doesn't actually freeze or anything like that, but when I unplug it from AC, the screen gets a little dimmer and Everquest II runs like crap. The system is nowhere near as powerful as it is when it is plugged in.

Does a bad "FLASH" or image stop you from POST'ing? And does this mean that there is no other way to fix it other then the swapping of BIOS chips? Thanks again for all the help...
